1.4-Dioxane AOP Treatment System
The 1,4-dioxane is removed by the accelerated oxidation method using ozone and hydrogen peroxide.
1,4-Dioxane is classified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer as Group 2B (possibly carcinogenic to humans), and discussions are currently underway in the Central Environmental Council's Water Environment Subcommittee to establish discharge standards. 1,4-Dioxane is poorly biodegradable and cannot be removed by biological treatments such as conventional activated sludge treatment, coagulation and sedimentation, or sand filtration. Additionally, adsorption treatment using activated carbon has a relatively low adsorption efficiency. Currently, the advanced oxidation process, which has a proven track record in the decomposition of dioxins, is the most effective treatment method.
